Whether you’re a university student in the midst of assignment season or just a regular ol’ night owl, you’ll understand how it feels to be limited in your options for getting food after dinner. No matter how hard we try to think of new places to eat late at night, it always comes down to two options: mamak stalls and McDonald’s.
On a daily basis, having our diet revolve around burgers and maggi goreng can become a little too routine. That’s why we dug around and discovered a slew of supper spots in Kuala Lumpur so you can try something new while tucking in around midnight:
1. Togather Cafe

We usually have to settle with strange hole-in-the-wall or roadside kiosks after driving around town at late when we’re hungry. Togather, on the other hand, allows you to dine in a nice, air-conditioned setting.

The traditional Lebanese Middle Eastern cuisine served at Al-Rawsha Restaurant is as flavorful as it is soothing. It’s also a solid bet that doesn’t deviate too far from standard mamak cuisine. Its massive range of cuisine, desserts, and drinks will satisfy hungry night souls with three outlets across Klang Valley, including one in KL that is open past midnight.

3. China Town Seng Kee

If a mountain of projects and duties has you wanting for a taste of your mother’s home-cooked meals, a supper at China Town Seng Kee will do the trick. This dining establishment has been around for over 20 years, delivering classic Chinese meals that will feel like a warm hug after a long night out. While there are a variety of delicacies available here, one that should not be overlooked is the Stir Fried Intestines (RM20), which are flavorful with deep-fried garlic and made extra-spicy with chili padi.

4. Wong Ah Wah

Wong Ah Wah Restaurant is a zi char or dai chow-style eating choice that is open till the early hours of the morning every day and is ideal for large groups. While the restaurant is frequently full, you can anticipate a variety of Chinese cuisine even after dinner.

5. La Bodega

Spanish restaurants aren’t normally what our Malaysian stomachs desire after work, but La Bodega’s tapas menu includes meals like Crispy Squid Rings with Lemon Aioli (RM28) and Smoked Duck Croquettes (RM28) (RM27). They have a big assortment of tapas that you can either have for yourself or share with your cinema buddies and are located throughout Klang Valley.

6. Bones Burger TTDI

We couldn’t leave out this gem because a burger is one of the best late-night snacks. The beef burgers at Bones Burger TTDI are known for being very juicy and full of flavor. The Tomato & Savoury Onion jam on the OG burger is so good that it caused a craze. You can also choose options with Creamy Caesar Sauce and BBQ Tabasco Sauce. You can add beef strips, a special lamb patty, pineapple, and more to make it the perfect burger for you. You will also notice their fluffy, shiny buns that look delicious.

7. Kantin Mini

With a large outdoor dining area and a view of the KL Twin Tower, this mini canteen is a great place to relax and have dinner until 3AM. There are a few food vendors here who sell different kinds of food, like our favorite Shellout sets, Japanese dishes, Western dishes, and more.

8. Damascus Bukit Bintang

This stall is known for its Shawarmas, so if you’re in Bukit Bintang after midnight, you might want to stop by. People often order chicken shawarma or a mix of chicken and beef shawarma.

We think you should check out this hipster night market if you don’t want to eat only one kind of food for dinner. Tapak Urban Street Dining has a huge selection of street food and a great atmosphere for eating outside at night. At one place, you can get burgers, Mee Goreng, corn dogs, milkshakes, and more.
