Who knew ayam masak kicap would be such a popular supper dish? This popular eatery, owned by three siblings, serves some of the best ayam masak kicap and cili gesek in town. Because the chicken is fried in batches, your dish will be served hot and fresh. Imagine a plate of white rice, ayam masak kicap, and some spicy cili gesek that would make you want to run for the hills and want more.

3. Hayaki Cafe

In Uptown Damansara, this kopitiam specialises in serving Kelantanese cuisine. Their most popular dish has to be the Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik. The blue colour of the rice is extracted from a blue pea flower, making the dish even more authentic. The meat is grilled to perfection, and the seasoning is spot on with its herb mix.

Steven’s Corner has been around for a long time and is well-known for its affordable Western cuisine. This street-western eatery serves Chicken Chop, Fish and Chips, and even Mix Grilled dishes in a more straightforward manner.

5. Burger Baek

Burger Baek, famous for their signature crispy burger, is one of the most affordable yet delicious burger stalls in Bandar Sunway. The Crispy Chicken Burger Baek is a crowd-pleaser that consists of a deep-fried chicken thigh drizzled with their in-house cheese sauce, chilli sauce, and mayo. And oh, it’s only RM4 per burger, pretty affordable isn’t it?

6. Syed Bistro

If you like mamak-style dishes, go to Syed Bistro, which serves everything from Nasi Kandar to Satay and Biryani throughout the night. You can even order the traditional Maggi Goreng and Sirap Limau while watching a football match with your friends.

Char Kuey Teow is not a typical supper dish, but sometimes you just crave strange dishes at odd times, so why not? This wok hei dish, located in PJ Old Town, is delicious, especially with the hint of charred bits. Expect a plate of char kuey teow with plenty of prawns, cockles, and beansprouts, as they are generous with their ingredients.

8. Restoran Yan Ying

If you prefer dim sum, go to this lively Old Klang Road spot that has been around for a couple of decades. Each plate costs approximately RM3.20.Other Chinese dishes are served in the evening. The restaurant has both air conditioning and outdoor seating. It was once a 24-hour restaurant, but since the pandemic, the closing time has been reduced to around 2 a.m.

9. Nasi Lemak Wanjo Kg Baru

This bright and airy spacious Kampung Baru spot has long been known for serving nasi lemak, which some customers claim is the best in Kuala Lumpur. Prices range from RM4 to RM9. Sotong, paru, kerang, and bergedil are some of the side dishes that go well with nasi lemak.

Tommy Thongchai, one of the list’s newer restaurants, serves some of the best Thai-Western fusion dishes. Some of the fusion dishes include Pad Kee Mao Spaghetti, Padkra Pao Burger, Thai Mac & Cheese, and Fried Chicken Somtam Burger. Some may think this is an unusual combination, but it is delicious.
