Popular in northern Malaysia, Nasi Kandar is a Penang-born dish. a traditional Malaysian dish that Tamil Muslim traders from India introduced. Steamed rice is served with a variety of interesting curries, side dishes, and gravies. Different combinations of vegetables, fish, or meat can be found in the range of curries.
1. Nasi Kandar Padang Kota
Located in Mydin MITC, Malacca. Looking at the name, don’t be fooled that this nasi kandar is a branch of the nasi kandar restaurant in Padang Kota. Even in Penang itself, padang kota is not a place for kandar rice lovers. However, the name was deliberately placed to take the spirit of nasi kandar from Penang. The action is quite worthwhile and not embarrassing because the kandar rice served here is also very good with side dishes that do not disappoint. The rice is also delicious and seasoned by the fried chicken or whatever side dish you choose with the curry sauce that is well put together to easily trap your emotions. The aroma is also great.
2. Restoran Nasi Kandar Subaidah
One of the several eateries owned by the Subaidah Holdings company is Restoran Nasi Kandar Subaidah. In 1998, the company opened their first restaurant in Penang, Restoran Nasi Kandar Subaidah, and was able to attract the interest of many nasi kandar devotees in the region. Since then, both the organisation and the restaurant have expanded significantly. There are now many Restoran Nasi Kandar Subaidah locations dispersed throughout the nation in locations like the Sunway region, Kota Damansara, Shah Alam, and a few more. In 2001, Melaka saw the occurrence of this growth for the first time.
3. Restoran Iqra Nasi Kandar Briyani House
The restaurant Restoran Iqra Nasi Kandar Briyani House is located in Taman Merdeka Permai. Although the restaurant’s name and decor give the impression that it only serves nasi kandar and nasi briyani, it actually behaves more like the standard Mamak restaurant that the majority of Malaysians are accustomed to, especially at night. Beyond the obvious 24-hour opening hours, this is especially clear during a football match when it’s customary to find this restaurant full with patrons chowing down on typical Mamak restaurant fare while sipping on a cup of coffee or tea.
4. Restoran A Sri Rosmerah
Malaysians can’t get enough of the Mamak restaurants, which are open 24/7. Nowadays, these eateries essentially provide everything, from wi-fi and shisha to watching the weekly football game or just relaxing with friends over a cup of coffee or tea. Restoran A Sri Rosmerah, which is situated in the town of Bukit Beruang Indah, is one of the more well-known Mamak eateries in the state of Melaka.
5. Pak Putra Tandoori & Naan Restaurant
A good location to eat in Melaka every time. As usual, tandoori chicken was juicy and delicious. Worth a try on naan with double the cheese and spinach. Here, a variety of roti and naan are served. The tandoori chicken must be paired with cheese naan. We had some of the greatest naan ever. Worth the journey! They provide excellent and fairly good Nasi Kandar.

This is not the place for you if you’re searching for luxurious furnishings and an elegant atmosphere. Here it is if you want to experience the genuine vibe. For authentic south Indian food, this is a terrific location. The curries are prepared traditionally and taste great. The location is close to the main tourist attractions, and the service is first-rate. Not only is the cuisine excellent, but this restaurant—which is frequented by locals, which is a positive sign—offers the cheapest price I’ve ever seen.

8. Rock Bottom Malacca
Excellent personnel service. Excellent environment with SOP adherence. The food was fantastic. The personalised staff service made a difference. Congratulations to the culinary and service teams for producing such great cuisine. Particularly the Nasi Kandar and Curry!

Good and inexpensive food is available here. Despite having only one serving employee, service was courteous and timely. with porcelain serving utensils. There is a large assortment of Indian dishes on the menu, including tandoori, tikka, curries, byriani, and naan. We had a lot of little, varied plates to try, and we generally liked the experience. We got a variety of dishes, including Nasi Kandar, Palek Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and Aloo Gobi, all of which were excellent.
10. Ram Cafe
The only restaurant in Melaka City that serves Indian food beyond 7 o’clock. In this region, all Indian restaurants close at 7 o’clock. An great chutney, nasi kandar, and simple home tosai are more than enough to quench a vegetarian’s thirst. They provide non-vegetarian options in addition to the typical pub fare. Dinner with the family by the river was nice.
