Nasi Kandar Ayam Merah Ipoh is the anchor tenant in a Chinese-owned Yong Suan Coffee Shop 永泉茶室 that exudes the traditional kedai kopi feel. It offers chicken thigh and beef with prawns as an add-on. Beyond its humble appearance on the plate, the fried chicken was crispy on the outside yet fresh and tender on the inside. The combination of curry, rempah, and chili, along with rice and chicken, creates a satisfying taste in the mouth. The dish also included a duck egg, a lady finger, and a cucumber. If you are thinking of visiting Nasi Kandar Ayam Merah or Nasi Ganja Ipoh, it’s best to arrive there earlier to avoid the massive lunch crowd.
